王正明,生于 1985 年。2006 年毕业于兰州大学生命科学学院并获学士学位,2013 年毕业于清华大学生命科学学院并获博士学位,博士期间于 2007-2008 年赴美国加州大学河滨分校交流学习一年。2013 年起至今,在英国剑桥大学植物科学系从事博士后研究,主要研究方向包括番茄小分子 RNA 以及表观遗传学方面,相关论文发表于 Genes & Development, Molecular Plant, BMC Genomics 等研究期刊。
报告内容简介
Gene silencing plays important roles in plant development, genome stability, and antiviral resistance. There are multiple pathways of RNA silencing in plants in which small RNA is the specificity determinant. Recently we performed analyses of tomato CRISPR mutants of genes involved in small RNA and epigenetics pathway, which uncovered several new aspects of gene silencing which exist in tomato and likely more crops. I will talk about a feedback regulatory loop between a miRNA and a defence protein that could be exploited in a gene editing approach to virus resistance in tomato.
